The first week of March will see Apple hold an event that will hail the arrival of the iPad 3, this is according to a report on AllThingsD, this is obviously more of the same old rumour mill tripe that we sometimes churn out for you to read and get our figures up..;)…but these sources seem to be saying that the actual iPad 3 tablet will be available in the second or third week of March, with iOS 5.1 getting a showing pretty soon after.

So it looks likely that the new Apple iPad 3 will be making a showing pretty soon, and according to Japanese blog Macotakara it could well be a 9.7-inch retina display panel with 2,048 x 1,536-pixel resolution.

iLab Factory, Chinese repair parts reseller, shows a Sharp made LCD panel which is considered to be for iPad 3.

What do you think to the rumours and date expected?

Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date Update https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/samsung-galaxy-s3-release-date-update/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/samsung-galaxy-s3-release-date-update/#comments Wed, 01 Feb 2012 13:30:57 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1742 Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date First Half Of 2012:

In a report in the inquirer, it has been seen that Samsung will disappoint people looking for the next update of the Galaxy range as they state:

”The successor to the Galaxy S II smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.”

The news comes just after reports emerge that Samsung will be bringing out a new tab and a new smartphone with an addition to the Galaxy range called the “Advance”.

This also comes on the back of an expected Samsung galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich release date delivered by Samsung’s Norwegian facebook account.

So how disappointed will you be that the Samsung S3 will not be making an appearance quite as quickly as many would have liked?

But as is noted in the article there is no saying that the new smartphone from Samsung will even be called the Samsung Galaxy S3, so could a new device still be in the cards, judging by the current show of Samsung humour that we can base our judgements on, this would likely be a joke too abstract for pretty dull Samsung.

Pre-orders will begin on the 5th of February for the Samsung Galaxy Note on AT&T and if you order before the 15th of February, Samsung reckon that you should have your new Galaxy Note device 2 days earlier than the official release date of the 19th.

AT&T’s price for the Samsung Galaxy Note?

The new smartphone will be $300 for a 2 year contract and will bring you all the Android goodness that many have enjoyed for a long time, I for one am quite intrigued by this device, yes it looks like a freaks toy in the hands of smaller framed people, but its a nice balance with some pretty sweet features that only a screen this size can offer.

Samsung S3 April Release Date? https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/samsung-s3-april-release-date/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/samsung-s3-april-release-date/#comments Sat, 28 Jan 2012 18:39:05 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1698 Samsung S3 April release?

According to a report in CNET and referencing a Russian blogger going by the name of Eldar Murtazin who runs mobile-review.com the Samsung S3 will make an appearance at MWC next month in Barcelona and will then appear on shelves in April.

Ok so it has gone away now, but for a brief period you could clearly see that a new model had arrived in Samsung’s inventory on their website.

Samsung GT i9300
Samsung GT i9300

The GT-I9300 was in that familiar drop down until rumours about this being the Samsung S3 obviously came flooding out.

So what was it and why would it possibly have been there for a short period?

Well my hunch is it was a tech issue, or in a more cynical plot it would have been done to stir up a little free press and start those huge rumour wheel mills up again, and here we are stoking that fire once more, how predictable we are..;)

Officially it would seem that Samsung have not got a release date and they are still in the process of sorting out the date details.

It will be interesting to see just how good the new battery will be on the Samsung S3 and I for one hope they give me one to test out as the Samsung S2 which I currently use was slated rather a lot due to the pi** poor battery life, and with Samsung telling the world that their 2012 range of smartphones will last a full day of moderate to heavy use, I am waiting to test this out.

Nokia Lumia 900 UK Release Date Not To Be June https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/nokia-lumia-900-uk-release-date-not-to-be-june/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/nokia-lumia-900-uk-release-date-not-to-be-june/#comments Wed, 25 Jan 2012 17:31:52 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1667 Nokia Lumia 900 UK Release Date:

Are you waiting patiently for the slightly more advanced Lumia 900 which is due to arrive on UK shores soon, well you may be interested to know that the date for its arrival looked like it would be in June according to many reports and shots of the carphonewarehouse website.

Unfortunately for the Nokia fiends among you T3 has shown that this page has in fact been pulled and this leaves the UK release date of the Nokia Lumia 900 up in the air again.

Nokia Lumia 900 UK Release Date
Nokia Lumia 900 UK Release Date

Nokia Lumia 900 Specs:

[arrowlist]

  • Windows Phone Tango Operating System.
  • 800 x 480 pixels screen resolution
  • 4.3 inch Multi Touchscreen Display with Corning Gorilla Glass
  • Size:125.5 x 65.8 x 9 mm.
  • 1.4Ghz processor with 1GB RAM.
  • Connectiviy:3G,Wi-Fi,microUSB,Bluetooth.
  • HD Video recording & playback.
  • 16GB of internal memory.
  • FM Radio with Recording.
  • 3.5 mm jack audio jack

[/arrowlist]

With the Nokia Lumia 900 getting a release at CES 2012 it was shown to be a pretty sizable beast coming in with a larger 4.3 inch display and an upgraded (we hope) battery, it also brings in 4G LTE support.

Windows Phone 7 still needs a bit of a kick start and while there are growing applications in their own marketplace, they are still leaps and bounds away from Apples offerings or the Android marketplace and I am personally unsure just how many app developers are looking at this alternative currently, my hunch is less than Microsoft would like despite little sweeteners to encourage more to join.

Why are the UK getting a 4G enabled smartphone anyway?

Some were questioning why we the UK would be getting a 4G enabled smartphone when we are so far off even deciding on a date to have the UK 4G spectrum auction, never mind actually roll out a full service to customers.

So it seems likely that the Nokia Lumia 900 handset should get released sometime this year and will be a 3G enabled device, with the Windows phone team getting cocky about the speed with which they can boot up facebook with their Smoked By A Windows Phone Crap….woopty f**ing woo….:)

I wonder if the impressive sounding (kind of) shipping figures will result in actual sales, as I hear mixed reports coming out about these figures.

Do not get me wrong I think Windows and Nokia could be on to a winner here in the long term, I have used a Lumia 800 and feel it makes Android look like one of those crap phones your Mum buys from Tesco/Walmart and claims she has bought an iPhone for £30.

Of course I fully understand their tactics and fair play to them, and good luck.

Sony Xperia S Release Date Update https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/sony-xperia-s-release-date-update/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/sony-xperia-s-release-date-update/#comments Mon, 23 Jan 2012 19:31:45 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1641 Sony Xperia S released 6th march:

Minus the usual Ericsson name attached, Sony will be releasing the Sony Xperia S in the UK on the 30th of January, we finally have an update of the date courtesy of Play.com and it looks set to cost around £429.99 with VAT and SIM-Free.

With CES being the showcase for the Sony device we think with the feature and spec it has on offer that it will be a welcome new addition to the Android family though some may be disappointed that it will arrive with only a Gingerbread operating system with ICS promised some time after the initial release.

<h3.Who will carry the device?

The usual few will be carrying the Sony Xperia S, including:

[arrowlist]

  • O2
  • Three
  • T-Mobile
  • Orange
  • Phones4U (offering exclusive white version)

[/arrowlist]

The talk is that Vodafone is not going to be adding it to their stock range but time will tell on that.

So what do I think of the Sony Xperia S?

Looks wise it looks great in product shots, nice and slim, powerful with a 1.5 Ghz dual core processor and with a sizable 4.3 inch LCH HD screen it is also impressive to look at, the camera is a huge 12 MP and it shoots in 720p.

But as is mentioned in the original article, this year is now all about the quad core smartphone and (hopefully) making phones a bit bigger so they can contain a larger battery, slim size zero smartphones are so 2011. Hopefully we can start using our phones as we want without fear of no life remaining in them after only a few hours.

So maybe for those reasons this device may be the last of a dying bred, albeit a sweet looking device and top of its class, it looks likely to get superseded pretty much as soon as it comes out by other beasts on the way.

All that said, bloody nice phone though, what do you think?

Tomorrow will see the UK release of the white version of the popular Samsung Galaxy Note, the padphone that many users say they love.

White Galaxy Note UK Release
White Galaxy Note UK Release

White Samsung Galaxy Note John Lewis:

Currently only exclusive to John Lewis on Oxford Street, you will need to be paying a visit to London in order to get yourself one of these slightly more chic devices.

The first 100 sold will also benefit from a few goodies thrown in, these will include £250 worth of films, music and books.

Later on in February more stockists throughout teh UK will get access to the white device so there is perhaps less of an impetus to get your ass down to London’s West End if you are hell bent on owning one of these smartphones

Simon Stanford, managing director, Samsung UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division.

“At Samsung we always want to offer our customers choice and are delighted to bring the Galaxy Note in white to the UK, the Galaxy Note is an innovative addition to the Samsung Galaxy family and a new category of device that consumers can’t get anywhere else.”

When we reviewed the Note we thought that the device was just (and we mean just) on the right side of big, but all in all loved the slightly confused smartphone.

With its Super AMOLED screen at 5.3 inches you can see why there are issues around size, but with great features such as the stylus pen and fast 1,4 Ghz dual core processor, with a stable Android 2.3 and a big meaty 8 mega pixel camera, it is a worthy device to consider if you are indeed in the market for a new smartphone.

I expect the device to retail at around £400 – £450, but have no actual prices just yet.

This years CES was by and large quite dull for me, yeh, we saw a few fantastic looking new devices such as a new Lenova Intel K800 smartphone and some cool cameras and TV’s, but to be honest nothing at all really made me go WOW….I am open to suggestions though, as there was a fair bit of “stuff” being shown and only so many hours in the day!

What has caught my eye today though, is the suggestion that the new Samsung S3 may have been spotted by “accident” in the Samsung show at CES 2012.

Here is the picture of a device that could just be a mock up or may in fact be what the new device will look like, and if it as an edge to edge device then we are sure it may feature Gorilla Glass 2 which is a remarkable material that was a plus point of CES 2012 and we covered it here.

Samsung S3 Leaked Shot CES 2012
Samsung S3 Leaked Shot CES 2012

And if that was not enough, here is video suggestion that this device could in fact be the new Samsung S3 and it comes in at the 7.12 mark.

With a similar camera placing as the S2 it could be a close replica of what to expect from Samsung in the coming few weeks and months.

We have already talked about a Samsung Galaxy S3 release date but to be honest it is all pretty much rumor right now.

What do you think to this photo, more like a beefed up Galaxy Note or could it indeed be a Samsung S3?

When CNET decide your device is worthy of an award, you know your hard work has paid off. And with news that CNET believe the Nokia Lumia 900 was the best smartphone that graced the CES 2012 show in Las Vegas we hope that the Finnish guys are more than happy with the new title.

Good news for Nokia = Good news for Microsoft?

No news is good news when life is dealing you a shitty hand, but when you are looking to get back in the mix, you want to know what is being said about you.

Nokia Lumia 900 Release
Nokia Lumia 900 Release

News from CES that the Nokia Lumia 900 has gone down a treat will be welcome affirmations for both technology firms that their chosen paths should pay off in the long term.

With the Nokia Lumia 900 rumoured to be arriving on AT&T in March with a rumored 18th of March tipped by many, it will be nice to see this device added to the already popular but app lacking Nokia Lumia 800.

So it looks like they may have cracked the egg that will bring both giants back into the land of the waking, smartphone wise.

But, they still need a good application marketplace in order to ensure that more people choose Windows when given a choice of Android or iOS.

I must say that I for one believe that the sleek Nokia Lumia series will be a serous contender in 2012, I just wish they had a good application marketplace that could compete with Apple and Android on scale and functionality, but things change and with Nokia and Microsoft’s drive to encourage more developers I think this may well see some serious growth after gaining accolades such as this one from CNET.

Nokia Lumia 900 AT&T March Release Date:

The Nokia Lumia 900 phone runs Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5. It is the biggest and fastest smartphone yet. And it will become available exclusively through AT&T in March.

With the Nokia Lumia coming to AT&T exclusively are you interested in going from your iOS device or Android smartphone over to Windows and Nokia?

If so why?

iPad 3 Release Date Update LTE And Improved Display https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/ipad-3-release-date-update-lte-and-improved-display/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/ipad-3-release-date-update-lte-and-improved-display/#comments Mon, 16 Jan 2012 12:36:05 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1522 iPad 3 Release Date March?

With a very late review of the iPad 2 coming soon, it is nice to look at news of the new iPad 3 and speculate on what areas it will improve on its older brother.

The iPad 3 is due for release in March, and Bloomberg seem to think that the new device will have a sharper screen courtesy of a High Def display and also feature LTE access which we expected anyway.

A speed increase will be delivered via a quad core chip, and while suppliers are not named in the article, it has been rumored that the ramp up in production will mean February is a key time period in the pre-iPad 3 calendar as full steam will be well and truly ahead on the production lines.

With Apple now selling more than 40 million iPads globally, the tablet has brought revenues of some $25.3 billion into Apples coffers.

LTE key to future of mobile devices:

With space running out on conventional network bandwidth, and a boom in smartphone and tablet use putting ever increasing pressures on data transfer via the traditional internet networks, LTE will bring two important new areas to mobile devices:

Speed and increased efficiency of data transfer.

Both will work together in helping the globe go more mobile, and stop further clogging up of the networks as more of the populations of the US, Europe, Asia and the world go mobile crazy and demand more bandwidth while out and about.

With China having their Lunar New Year holiday in February, and Foxconn being the main assemblers of the iPad 3, it is thought that the device will start being delivered to customers in March at the earliest.

With news on an Apple event to be held next week related to education, we are not expecting to hear the above information from the horses mouth any time soon.

So does this kind of news excite you about the new iPad or are they simply beefing up an already capable tablet PC, and if so, what do you think they should be looking at including in order to cement their status as the manufacturer of the best Tablet PC on the market?…Arguably.

iPad 3 Release Date Update – Design To Stay Same https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/ipad-3-release-date-update-design-to-stay-same/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/ipad-3-release-date-update-design-to-stay-same/#comments Thu, 12 Jan 2012 17:13:16 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1488 iPad 3 design to stay the same:

The old saying “why fix it if it ain’t broken” applies to the iPad almost perfectly.

Here we have an icon of design that is so well executed it has not only spawned masses of imitators, with only the ASUS Transformer Prime coming anywhere near close to outshining the original tablet PC, but it also refuses to alter after years at the top.

So with this in mind, what do you really want of the new iPad 3?

Many will say;

“I want Apple to reinvent the wheel,”

And expect them to always bring them the new, slimmer, sexier iPad that we expect every few years.

Sorry to disappoint the design junkies:

I am afraid it looks like the next iPad will stay the same in design.

Now let us look at another saying that may make you happier.

“It is what is on the inside that counts.”

Yes your parent(s) or guardians should have told you this when you were younger, otherwise you probably turned into a narcissistic, drug addled little shit that has needed “help” ever since.

I am not one for religion in particular, but there are some decent elements at the base of most, and we shall be focusing on one of these humanistic levels for the next iPad.

Sure, the new version is likely to feature some nice features, but they will mainly be inside the device and we hope will more than make up for a lack of a new coat.

So what will be inside the new iPad 3?

You know Apple do not tell a thing prior to releases so let us do some fortune telling here.

Now according to iLounge’s Jeremy Horwitz, he has touched and smelt the iPad 3 at CES 2012 over in Las Vegas. But we all know that Apple are not showing at the event.

So are people using the new iPad 3 unwittingly, if so, this sounds like it could be a bit of a lacklustre update visually, so what is going on underneath?

Well if rumours are to be believed the new iPad will be 1mm thicker with an improved camera to the top left corner, rumours of a smaller display were neither agreed nor shown as proof, but there has been talk.

iPad 3 due March 2012 – iPad 4 due Q4 2012?

With all this in mind, we would like to point you to our other article on the iPad 3 release date, that predicted pretty much the equivalent of an iPhone 4S update to the iPhone 4 for the next model of iPad, with a much bigger release of the iPad 4 to be expected later this year or early in 2013.

I also think that a price cut may be on the cards, and the new iPad 3 may sell for $100 less than it costs now, simply in order to stay competitive in this marketplace that Apple so desperately want to dominate.

With Sony now dropping their old Ericsson name it seems that dropping letters is in fashion right now, as the more correctly named “Sony Mobile Communications” has out fooled us all and is now to call the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD quite simply the Sony Xperia S.

US carriers for the Sony Xperia S:

The release of the new smartphone will however be delivered in the first quarter of this year globally.

Sony Xperia S
Sony Xperia S

Networks:

With no news on carriers in the US, it appears that UK buyers will see the device on the Three network, though we simply have no other news than that currently.

Tech Specs:

The new smartphone device will arrive with some pretty impressive technical specs including a 4.3 inch 1280 x 720 resolution touchscreen display, however right now it seems that it will be running the older version of Android on 2.3, though this could well get an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich come full release, and is definitely promised by the 2nd half of 2012.

And in typical Sony style the new smartphone will sport a massive 12 megapixel camera, with a Sony Exmor R sensor, which will enable the device to record 1080p and 720p video.

Processor:

You will be provided with a powerful 1.5 GHz dual core processor from Qualcomm and an additional 32 GB of storage.

Watch the video below:

What do you make of the new phone?

I am quite glad to see Sony stop writing books for model names and get back to some simplified terms that we can all remember. And from cursory observations it would seem that this device could be a contender, though I see nothing of real note that other smartphone releases such as the Samsung Galaxy S2, Nexus, iPhone 4S or Samsung Galaxy Note can not compete against.

So would the new Sony Xperia S be of interest to you?

Pricing of the US version of the Galaxy Note?

No details have yet emerged on the actual pricing of the Samsung Galaxy Note in the US, so we will have to keep our eyes peeled on this as and when news emerges.

Galaxy Note has nice features:

If size is your thing, you will be pleasantly happy with this phone as its size means it offers features that other phones would find hard to deliver.

One being the use of a small stylus termed an “S Pen”, which is housed in the device, and can be used to write on the huge screen almost the same as writing on paper, this is obviously useful for note taking.

In a nice little extra feature, the notes you take can be shared across multiple devices.

Galaxy Note huge screen:

With a huge screen, it has huge appeal to those who are less worried about bulges in their pants, and more concerned over screen real estate so they can play games or watch video on their smartphones while out and about, which this phones screen offers in abundance with a huge 5.3 inch in width.

Based on the Android operating system, the phone has been missing from US consumers clutches ever since it was launched back in October, so this news will make for lots of smiles for those wondering whether to wait in hope or simply go and pick up an alternative smartphone.

So are you looking forward to the Galaxy Note finally coming to the US or has other smartphones got your attention now you have had to wait so long?

Google once again chose Samsung to be the manufacturer of their latest Ice Cream Sandwich enabled device the Galaxy Nexus (Prime in the US). And while there have been some discussions of Galaxy Nexus signal issues initially with the device, it has by and large received a warm and welcome reception for its high end specs, design and functionality.

Do you love the Samsung galaxy range? And you are now in the market for a new Samsung Galaxy Nexus but do not want to look like the rest of the madding crowd, if so, what do you do?

Would you simply get the original Galaxy Nexus model that came out late last year and put a skin on it to make it look unique?

Or, would you prefer to wait for the arrival and release of the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus in white?

Well do not get too over excited just yet, as it looks like the arrival may not be until February and the actual colour maybe more half and half if this product shot is anything to go by, but it is coming and it looks pretty neat.

No US release date just yet:

US readers will know this device as the Samsung Galaxy Prime, and we are unsure if the white version is currently available for you, or indeed will ever be made an official release, but it does appear to be coming to UK shores on February.

I have to say that I really like this device having played around with it a few times of recent, I feel that ICS has one up on Gingerbread in terms of lag and general feel, it has that lovely responsiveness that you come to expect of high end phones and I actually feel is lacking on the Samsung S2.

What do you make of the design, is it a bit cheeky calling it white when the front seems so dark, and only the back and sides really have the signature white look applied?

iPad 3 To Be $100 Cheaper iPad 4 To Arrive With Killer Applications Later https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/ipad-3-to-be-100-cheaper-ipad-4-to-arrive-with-killer-applications-later/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/ipad-3-to-be-100-cheaper-ipad-4-to-arrive-with-killer-applications-later/#respond Fri, 06 Jan 2012 17:00:30 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1397 Apple will reduce the cost of the iPad 2 in the next few weeks during an expected iPad 3 launch:

Apple may decide to reintroduce the ageing iPad 2 as a reduced $299 offering after the rumoured iPad 3 launch later this month.

iPad 3 Release Date
iPad 3 Release Date

With Apple looking to offer two or more iPad models, the release of the iPad 3 is expected to be in the next few weeks at the iWorld expo on January the 26th-28th, we hear that this new model may mean that the current iPad 2 will come in at a lower price as a result, and that the iPad 3 may come in two variations also.

The new iPad 3 is rumored to be coming with a 9.7 inch QXGA screen and a display resolution of some 2048 x 1536 with an A6 SoC.

But there is talk that this new iPad may have a slightly weaker cousin with a less able camera and poorer quality screen, with subtle differences such as the lower priced model having only a 5 MP camera, and using a 1024 x 768 resolution while the more expensive iPad will have an 8MP offering, exactly what else will be added to the new model remains to be seen.

Apple supply chains confirm that the current iPad 2 will probably be slashed in price:

With the talk of a reduced price iPad, this should allow Apple to compete with the Amazon Kindle Fire, which it is thought ate into around 2 million lost iPad sales over the festive period. Yes Apple are scared of the e-commerce monster, and so they should be.

There is also a rumour emerging that they may bring in another cut price version of the iPad 3 or iPad 2 with only 8GB of memory to really compete on price with the likes of the Amazon Kindle Fire, Barnes and Noble Nook and expected Google Tablet.

iPad 3 to be $100 cheaper iPad 4 to arrive with killer applications later:

It is also thought that the new iPad 3 could be due a price reduction form the flagship high process that their current models command, and there is also an even more juicy rumour that an iPad 4 could be due for release at the end of the year with a serious upgrade to the operating system and “killer” applications.

Are you looking forward to the new iPad 3, or more interested in the serious upgrade that the iPad 4 may prove to be later on in the year?

Amazon Kindle Fire UK Release Date https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/amazon-kindle-fire-uk-release-date/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/amazon-kindle-fire-uk-release-date/#comments Thu, 05 Jan 2012 16:07:10 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1392 Amazon Kindle Fire To Hit UK Shelves End Of January?

We have heard rumours that the UK arrival of the Amazon Kindle Fire will be some time soon, with varying release dates ranging from the end of January right up to March being tipped as the correct release schedule.

We have already done a review of the Amazon Kindle Fire, and found that the device certainly had its plus points.

Kindle Fire UK Release Date
Kindle Fire UK Release Date

One of which was the obvious price level that it was being sold at, coupled with access to a huge Amazon owned eco-system and their own version of Android running the tablet.

It seems like a great alternative to more costly versions of tablets running the Android O/S, and obviously Apples own premium priced iPad 2.

Amazon sell millions of Kindle Fires over Xmas:

With Amazon selling upwards of five million units so far, it will be interesting to see if the same success is replicated in the UK.

This will likely come down in many ways to what price level they decide to sell the tablet at.

On the amazing sales so far of the Kindle Fire, Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO and co-founder states:

“We are grateful to our customers worldwide for making this the best holiday ever for Kindle,”

Amazon Kindle Fire or iPad 3?

Of course this is an unfair comparison in many ways, but just ask yourself the question:

If you were given the choice of waiting for the arrival of the next iPad 3 release, or probably waiting a shorter period of time and saving yourself a couple of hundred pounds in the process on top, which would you choose?

That is assuming that there is only one version of the new iPad being launched. As we hear there is a strong chance that two variations of the next iPad will be offered, with one cut-price version attempting to compete with the likes of the Amazon Kindle Fire which will undoubtedly be eating away at Apples bottom line now that it is fully unleashed.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date And 3D Rumor https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/samsung-galaxy-s3-release-date-and-3d-rumor/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/samsung-galaxy-s3-release-date-and-3d-rumor/#comments Wed, 04 Jan 2012 10:46:25 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1368 Samsung galaxy S3 may get 3D capability:

We have already discussed how the Samsung galaxy S3 may come with a whole raft of new features, and we have touched on the fact that 3D is a possibility, however news from IBTimes suggest that the rumour could hold a little more merit, and rather than one model with 3D, it appears that there could be two variations, a standard HD model and an enhanced 3D model, depending on how you look at it.

If a 3D enabled device does emerge it will be using dual cameras to the rear of the device to capture the 3D information.

And the 3D will likely be of the “glasses free” variety meaning that you will be able to tell that it is 3D without those funky looking specs. And the display is also going to be in the region of 4.2 and 4.65 inches.

Samsung Galaxy S3 February release date:

Will the rumor of the Samsung Galaxy S3 release date be true. If so it could be an interesting early start to 2012.

Now what I am unsure about is if 3D technology is actually a game changer just yet. I am much more intrigued to see if it will have a quad core processor and actually be able to handle the power contained with its own battery!

What would you like to see in the new Samsung S3, are you going for a 3D enabled device so you can play games on it or are you hoping the battery life is better than on the S2?

Please do, as always, tell all in the comments below.

Samsung Galaxy Note US Release Date Update https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/samsung-galaxy-note-us-release-date-update/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/samsung-galaxy-note-us-release-date-update/#comments Sat, 31 Dec 2011 16:37:05 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1315 Samsung Galaxy Note to hit US shores Early 2012 on AT&T:

We have already done a comprehensive review of the Samsung Galaxy note and found that the half tab, half smartphone was a big boy indeed, and perhaps not one for certain ladies, but we liked it by and large…pun of course intended.

Galaxy Note US Release Date
Galaxy Note US Release Date

So it is intriguing to see that despite a no-show in the US currently, the Galaxy Note smartphone, that masquerades as a tablet when it needs to, has actually shipped a whopping 1 million units globally, which seems pretty incredible considering the amount of competition it faces in the overall smartphone market.

Samsung Galaxy Note at CES?

It is thought that the Consumer Electronics Show in January could be the perfect US showcase for the mobile device to start wooing US buyers, and for the device to then start appearing on AT&T shortly after, with an expected support for LTE to be offered.

With a 5.3 inch screen and 1280 x 800 pixel resolution display, we think it will appeal to quite a few Americans who still swear that big is most definitely best!

What do you think of the device? Are you looking forward to the new release of the Samsung Galaxy Note in the US?

Here is a half decent Samsung promo video for the Galaxy Note, when compared to the hilarious videos they released for the Samsung S2 which have now been pulled:

Please let us know your thoughts on the Galaxy Note in the comments, are you a Note owner already who likes or loathes the device? Tell all.

Apple iPhone 5 Rumor Of Total Redesign Is True https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/apple-iphone-5-total-redesign-is-true/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/apple-iphone-5-total-redesign-is-true/#comments Wed, 28 Dec 2011 19:22:54 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1283 Apple will release new iPhone 5 in fall 2012 with total redesign:

Thanks to the boys at boy genius report we can confirm that Apple are looking set to release a brand new model of iPhone with a total redesign in the fall of 2012.

Apple iPhone 5 Release Date
Apple iPhone 5 Release Date

We have already given some prediction as to when the iPhone 5 will arrive, but as with most things from Apple pretty much everything is speculation until the actual day, and we like it that way to be honest.

The details:

It appears that the next iPhone will be released at a similar time to this years slightly lacklustre iPhone 4S, i.e the back end of 2012, and a new bit of interesting info appears to show that the new smartphone will make use of a rubber/plastic type material which will be of a similar nature to the material used in their bumper cases, this will probably be part of the bezel around the redesigned phone and may help to aid the functionality of a rebuilt antenna, which will then allow Apple to build the back out of one piece of aluminium.

Will the screen size be larger?

Many want to see this feature as the only guaranteed addition in the next iteration of the iPhone, but we have no solid proof that the next iPhone will have a larger display or not.

So let us know what you think the new Apple iPhone should and should not contain in terms of hardware and software? Would you go back to a small screen if you are now used to a good sized Samsung S2 or similar?

I know this will be a deal breaker for me if I chose to go back to Apple, so what say you?

As usual tell us all about your own opinions in the comments below we look forward to hearing them.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date Rumor https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/samsung-galaxy-s3-release-date-rumor/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/samsung-galaxy-s3-release-date-rumor/#comments Wed, 28 Dec 2011 12:25:29 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1274 Samsung Galaxy S3 release date news:

With the ongoing success of the Samsung Galaxy S2, it appears that the South Korean tech giant could be rolling out a new version of the successful Galaxy series next year, with the Samsung Galaxy S III rumored to perhaps make a show as early as February at the Mobile World Congress in Spain. This was the very same congress and date last year that the Samsung S2 was revealed.

Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy S3

So what might be included as an update in the new Samsung Galaxy smartphone?

Rumor mills have suggested that the following may be included in terms of hardware:

[arrowlist]

  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
  • 4.6″ 1280×720 Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen.
  • New quad-core processor, Exynos 4412.
  • 2GB of RAM.
  • 12MP camera.
  • New quad-core processor, Exynos 4412.

[/arrowlist]

All I personally hope, is that they ensure that all this potential power is delivered with a battery that can last on a full days charge, or go and take a look at our suggestions for improving smartphone battery life!

Could the new Samsung S3 be 3D enabled and compatible with Samsung 3D televisions?

Now this could be quite amazing if true, and would be a rival to the current LG Optimus 3D and HTC Evo 3D.

Though there is some talk that a separate model could be released with 3D appended in its title e.g Samsung Galaxy S3 3D perhaps?

And if it worked well, I may, just may, forgive Samsung if the battery only lasts ten minutes on a full charge.

The reason being is that 3D as a technology, while largely overrated in my opinion for many things, is still astounding to think that it may be commonplace as a capturing medium on your mobile phone.

And while this unfortunately will not save lives, is somewhat of an achievement technologically in the grand scheme of tech!

So what are your hopes for the Samsung Galaxy S3, are there major improvements you can think of that should perhaps be considered, and if so, what are they?

Your thoughts are as always very welcome.

iPad 3 Launch Date Update Video Advert Released https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/ipad-3-launch-date-update-video-advert-released/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/ipad-3-launch-date-update-video-advert-released/#comments Thu, 15 Dec 2011 23:39:52 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1146 iPad 3 rumors of early 2012 release date:

Yes, the iPad 3 release date rumors are coming thick and fast, we have already given you an overview on some important areas that may help the release date of the iPad 3 to be in February. However these are all well and truly firmly entrenched in “rumouville” for now.

So when will the next generation iPad 3 be released?

iPad 3 Launch Date Rumours
iPad 3 Launch Date Rumours

Asking this question to a group of technology journalists will get you a mixed bag of replies, some will tell you as we did, that a February iPad 3 release is on the cards, others will go with the sands of time and state that the likely date for the unveiling of the product will be in Mid-march, with an imminent release, what ever the outcome, the likelihood is a pre mid 2012 date, that is to say it should be in stores before June/July 2012 if the past is anything to go by.

And let us face it, while Apple can shock us on many occasions the release date of the iPad 3 is something that they are less likely to play with for effect.

iPad 3 Commercial

Please now take a look at the new pre-release teaser here :)…ok, so this is a send up, but enjoy:

iPad 3 features?

Yes the device looks like it has no rim and is transparent! Maybe Apple have got themselves access to that amazing new technology called Graphene, read “What is Graphene” here to enlighten yourself. But, I digress, while that device looks sweet, I doubt that this will be the new iPad 3, in looks anyway, as this video is a pure concept video by a person? calling themselves Dakota Adney, using a little bit of After effects and such like I imagine.

A Better Camera?

Citi analyst Richard Gardner would argue that the new iPad may not look transparent and rimless but it could well have a new camera, talking of the release date he states that:

“There do not appear to be any significant technical hurdles remaining,”

With cameras on the iPad 2 being pretty average for anything other than facetime, the camera area is one that can be upped quite easily and would help them gain a bit more respect in this department.

“Both cameras on the iPad 2 are horrible, sure, they work for FaceTime and such, but the results are pitiful. While tablets are still unwieldy for taking pictures, most of the competition is fielding tablets with 3- and 5-megapixel cameras. I don’t imagine I’ll be using a tablet for most photo-taking needs, but having a decent one on board wouldn’t hurt.”

Wrote Eric Zeman at Information Week.

So will the design change?

While it is very possible a new racial design could see the light of day, I doubt very much that we will see anything more than a few tweaks here and there in this release, make it lighter, more powerful, and simply up the specifications all round. I see probably nothing more than an improved iPad 2 coming out on this round.

Smaller iPad release?

It seems unlikely that Apple will launch a smaller version in general, as this was something Steve Jobs was not keen on discussing prior to his death, however with the rise in popularity of the Amazon Kindle Fire there does potentially bring into light a new challenge that may need to be overcome, and may force Cupertino to release a cut-price version of the iPad, whether this will mean “smaller” in size remains to be seen.

Talk of new release has not hit iPad 2 sales:

Senior research analyst at Piper Jaffray, Gene Munster, seems to believe that Apple will sell some 13.5 million iPad this December, which will be a huge 80%+ increase over the same months in 2010.

Quite amazing really, as I just advised my girlfriend to just go out and get one after she asked me if I should wait, a great thing about Apple products is that their resale value is high, so if a new model does come out quick, you should only lose about $100 or £60 ish if you get your old model sold on Ebay etc!

We will keep you posted on further iPad 3 news as we get it.

iPad 3 Release Launch Date February 2012 https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/ipad-3-release-launch-date-february-2012/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/ipad-3-release-launch-date-february-2012/#comments Mon, 12 Dec 2011 14:21:10 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1080 The Apple iPad 3 could be arriving in early 2012:

We have already given our guesstimate on the arrival and release date of the new iPad 3 in an earlier post, but we always like to keep our Apple hungry readers with up to date information related to the products they love, so here is our latest update.

iPad 3 February 2012 Release Launch
iPad 3 February 2012 Release Launch

Yes the latest speculation doing the rounds right now seems to suggest that Apple are looking to deliver the iPad 3 in just a couple of months time.

Business Insider have spotted notes relating to the release in a research document created by Analyst Richard Gardner.

Gardner is quoted saying:

“there do not appear to be any significant technical hurdles remaining”

(in the production of the iPad 3).

This relates to the issues with the retina display that will feature in the new iPad.

February launch date for the iPad 3:

Citing “several sources”, it would appear that the iPad 3 release date will be in February 2012, and the tablet will have a resolution twice that of the iPad 2, the fact that there appears to be no problems in producing the new retina display, means that, if true, an earlier release date than expected is very possibly on the cards.

So will a February release still not be a bit early:

Apple usually work on a 12 months or so product life cycle, so February would appear a month or so early. However with the iPad 2 beginning to look a bit weak in the specification department, it could very possibly mean that the iPad 3 will make a slightly earlier entrance than expected.

Whatever the date, the new tablet looks set to stay the most popular tablet by manufacturer on the market.

I was in an Apple store this weekend, and let me tell you that the demand for these devices pre-Christmas was insane, with every type of person seemingly after the iPad 2, I think that 2012 will see the tablet really come of age, now they are in everyone’s parlance finally.

I am however going to suggest that the date will not be as hoped for in this article, but will more than likely still be early 2012 in a Keynote presentation the date of which has not been set, but perhaps will be mid to late March.

Are you looking forward to the arrival of the new Apple tablet? And if you own one already, what features do you hope will be brought into life with the new model?
