If anyone were to ask me for my prediction as to which technology market will have the largest growth in the next year, I would answer Internet TV.

Internet TV is a relatively new concept in the technological world and it is growing fast.

People are getting tired of paying for TV services when they can get most of their shows and movies through sources online or Internet TV Devices, these sources are cheaper and more convenient to users who can access whatever content they’d like at whatever time they’d like for little or no money at all.

My favorite way to enjoy Internet TV is through my Roku. Roku is an Internet TV device similar to Apple TV that allows for streaming of multiple services such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, Crackle, and the new Amazon Prime Instant Video.

Options for Internet TV:

Roku is cheap and certainly gets the job done, it is small, portable, and provides flawless streaming. Although my Roku is my favorite choice of Internet TV Devices, there are many more including Apple TV and the developing Google TV.

No matter which device you use, Internet TV provides many unique features that will propel it above and beyond traditional TV providers. It allows you to have any media you want at your command. Most Internet TV Devices allow users to access not only TV shows and movies, but music, games, and photos.

These devices can turn any average living room into a multimedia center. My favorite times to use my Internet TV Device is for when I’m hosting parties, having a movie night with friends, or to catch up on my favorite shows. TV is one of the last remaining areas of technology that hasn’t fully adapted to the internet, now is its time. Please leave your thoughts below.

App Review “Crackle” Watch TV and Movies for Free https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/app-review-crackle-watch-tv-and-movies-for-free/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2012/app-review-crackle-watch-tv-and-movies-for-free/#respond Fri, 27 Jan 2012 16:52:35 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=1683 Crackle – Movies & TV App

A great free application that allows Android users to watch FREE movies and TV shows has been released, the application is also getting more and more content so this is not some one trick fly by night app, though the web version is pretty poor looking and seems to only feature made for TV type content.

What is needed however is the Adobe 11 Flash download otherwise there are reported issues using the app, but seen as this is free you cant complain.

The Adobe 11 Flash app is available here:

Crackle App Allows You To Watch TV On Your Android Device

If you are into Anime and movies in general then this application is great with around 20 movies added monthly and a host of TV shows. Of course there is a price of sorts to pay for all this “free-ness”, and that is in the form of its freemium nature, so yes you will have to watch a few choice adverts at the beginning of the show, but this is no big deal when the content is free surely!

You will need a data or wi-fi connection to be able to watch their content as it is a streaming service, but we are sure many users will find that this application is indeed a pretty sweet deal.

Samsung Will Build Google Smart Televisions https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/samsung-will-build-google-smart-televisions/ https://www.mobileinquirer.com/2011/samsung-will-build-google-smart-televisions/#comments Thu, 24 Nov 2011 17:11:02 +0000 http://www.mobileinquirer.com/?p=813 Samsung chosen as next gen Google TV manufacturer:

With Google TV not getting the most rapturous feedback and adoption rates just yet, it is interesting to see that Google have not given upon the TV aspect of their long term objectives.

You can already get Google TV on some Sony models and Logitech set top boxes so it is interesting to hear that Samsung also have got a collaborative product coming out soon.

Samsung and Google have had a rewarding relationship of late, with Samsung’s Android based smartphones starting to dominate the mobile device market, and Google’s Android being the O/S of choice for Samsung’s new line of phones.

It is therefore a fitting payback from Google that they have teamed up with Samsung as a Google TV manufacturer of choice.

President of Samsung’s TV division – Yoon Boo-keun, states that they are in late stage talks with the big G and will be rolling out the TV’s some time soon, with an excepted appearance at “an event next year”. It was also stated that this particular flavour of Google TV woudl be different from the crop so far.

This is a much needed boost for the platform which has not been well received by and large, with Logitech claiming that the relationship with Google cost them $100 million as the product was not fully complete while they were creating the devices that incorporated the technology.

Google have partnered up with some bog names, Netflix, obviously YouTube are starting to offer more premium quality content also, so maybe this technology is just a bit too early for most and that annoying period of chicken and egg type issues is what is causing the mixed reception and lack of demand.

So will Google TV eventually be ready and well received, we will have to wait and see.

I do foresee that the TV more than a computer will be much more interactive and that this type of platform will become the future of on demand entertainment from various technologies and platforms, it just makes total sense.
